Detailed Plot;

Part One

Part one begins intriguingly and with immediate danger!  A 'sector 8 alert' is ringing out claiming of an unauthorised capsule entry. The materialisation of a TARDIS was heard and naturally I figured it was the Doctor's. But it didn't happen to be his, it was revealed as a type-70 TARDIS but similarly to the Doctor's, it seemed this one was stolen. With the mention of guards and a non-Doctor TARDIS, it was clear where we were. Gallifrey. Exiting the type-70 TARDIS was Vansell, a Time Lord, and he was in a great rush. He immediately wanted to see the President of the Time Lords! A pulsating start to the audio series.

The Time Lord guards naturally refused to grant a meeting, but their minds soon changed after Vansell's shocking claim, if the guards obeyed their orders, they would be signing the death warrant of the Time Lords. Just what was Vansell so worried about, what could be so bad that would have the whole of Gallifrey at risk?

Vansell was taken to the President and he spoke of outsiders attacking Gallifrey, people who had absolute control of the space-time continuum. Who could possibly have that much power? People who were above and beyond the Time Lords themselves, and judging by Vansell's urgency- these people didn't seem to be using their power for good. It was questioned how they'd gone unnoticed but it was soon figured out that there were distortions in history and with some artron energy left by a Time Lord. It was determined who was the cause. Would it be anyone else? The Doctor of course.

Admittedly a smile came to my face after hearing the voice of the Seventh Doctor. It was great to be reunited with a classic Doctor, but danger immediately struck; the cloister bell was heard. The TARDIS was acting differently, it was as if something was trying to communicate with the Doctor! Another communication though had broken through. A message from Gallifrey, but the line seemed jammed and a lack of signal was clear to be present. The message was incomplete and it was unknown what the Doctor needed to do. The Time Lords were in danger.

The Doctor had landed on an unknown planet, and there was a cry for help heard. A female voice in the distance. The Doctor heard it and naturally attempted to help her. He was following her voice through what seemed some sort of woodland or forest. I loved the reference and usage of the infamous question mark umbrella, it brought back some great memories of the last three seasons of Classic Who. The female shouted that she was sinking, so the Doctor advised her not to struggle and he sped up his venture! In comedic fashion, the girl's name was revealed to be Elenya.

With the Doctor getting closer, it originally seemed he was captured by a witch! But it turned out to be an odd sounding carer. The Doctor briefly explained the situation and he was left to go. But this person somehow knew the Doctor. The Doctor escaped and thankfully rescued Elenya. She was safe. By now, I was delved in deep in the early stages of this audio and completely forgot that this was intended as a multi-Doctor adventure, so far it seemed far from it. Elenya was likely to become the companion for the story I figured, similarly to Astrid in Voyage of the Damned for example.

The witch sounding person was caring to a man, seemingly old and frail, it was clear he was injured. Were they a couple? Or devious? It didn't seem so. This women was seemingly talking to a higher power via a communication device and she denied the sighting of the Doctor, why I'm not so sure, but whoever these higher power were, they were very happy with the fact that nobody was there. Was this women hiding? It was unclear what she was doing or even who she was. Why was this higher power so happy at the fact there were no people around? What didn't they want people to know?

The Doctor, having rescued Elenya, took her back to the safety of the TARDIS. But a shock occurred that was brilliant. The TARDIS wouldn't open! A force was shutting them out from the interior, something was interfering with the Doctor's TARDIS! The people Vansell talked of, the ones above and beyond the Time Lords? The Doctor, despite the increasing darkness and dramatic temperature decrease in the forestry, seemed extremely intrigued rather than worried, which I loved as it was so typical of the Doctor.

Elenya revealed more about herself and how she happened to end up on this unknown (and unnamed) planet. She was the sole survivor of a party. She was in deep freeze preservation so she survived. She got lucky. Elenya also revealed information about the planet, it had a detection shield barrier. This planet was a mystery and I for one was intrigued. The Doctor was stuck outside his TARDIS, so he set sail to attempt to find civilisation. But on his voyage, still with Elenya of course, another ship had arrived. Who else was here?

We were taken back to the witched women and she was helping this man, Sancroff, caring for him. Were they the inhabitants of the planet? It was unclear, especially after they didn't know about the ships that were crashing here. The Doctor and Elenya found a light in the distance, estimated at 0.5 miles away. But in a thrilling moment, there was another ship plummeting now, the Doctor referred to the place as the kamikaze planet. But this ship was close, and heading for them! The women, Ruthley, was again talking to the higher power she previously was.

Vessels had been breaking through the planet's shield, they were extremely close. Was it an attack? It didn't seem so but the newfound pair of the Doctor and Elenya needed to take cover! It was a thrilling moment! Ships plummeting towards the Doctor. Would he survive? Thankfully he did so, and during the descending, a ship crashed close by and Elenya pointed out that the crew were dead. But the Doctor seemed very fascinated by the life form. He didn't think they'd been destroyed at all, he thought they were just being born!

Robotic voices, similar to that of the Quarks, were heard. Were the Dominators returning? It didn't seem likely as the robots seemed to answer to the women. But it was all still unclear. These robots encountered the Doctor and Elenya, asking them for their presence on this security restricted planet. They had no good reason and their minds were scanned- which affected them greatly.

Sancroff was joined by the Doctor and Elenya and long overdue we found out a lot of information. It was confirmed that the man was paralysed (well he couldn't walk) and we also discovered the name of the robots; Drudgers. To be honest it was all a little confusing at this point, but I was able to follow and was still intrigued. The Doctor pointed out that he previously met her at the beginnings of this part. Sancroff wanted it dark, he didn't like the light, which seemed common on this unnamed planet. It was all very dark and mysterious.

Danger though was now on its way and more action ensued. Fire was opened and the Drudgers were wiped out. 'Assassins' had come for Sancroff. He was in hiding and had been found. So who was he? He was a prisoner. And bioengineered life forms were coming. Did they have a connection with the looming threat on Gallifrey?

Ruthley described how a deal had been made. Sancroff was to be taken away. Beings approached the main building of which everybody was in. The Doctor and Elenya helped Sancroff up, the Doctor wanted to know he was and why he was hunted. We also found out more about the planet, it officially didn't exist. It was nameless. It was all very intriguing!

Meanwhile Elenya had found live pictures on some sort of device she must've had. She could see the assassins. Ruthley thought she had done well, she was made free. But the assassins described how there must be no witnesses. They murdered Ruthley. The Knights of Velyshaa had arrived.

It was discovered that Sancroff was the First Knight. He was sentenced to internal banishment for inflicting suffering. The Knights had searched to destroy him, Sancroff was a war criminal many years ago. The Knights closed in, but there must be no witnesses, death was imminent as the Knights fired, with the Doctor and Elenya the witnesses the Knights didn't want! The end credits hit, a wonderful cliffhanger.

Part Two

At the beginning of part two I momentarily thought I was listening to a completely different audio. There was no follow on whatsoever from the pulsating ending of part one, not even a mention which was to my annoyance. However, what did follow was very good but I have to admit, so far, I don't like the format of each Doctor having an individual part with the only link between them the happenings on Gallifrey and discussions between Vansell and the Time Lord President.

The part began with some haunting music. It was an entirely new scenario and setting, and felt like a part one of a story all over again. But anyway, there was a captain of sorts and talk of a periscope death. A ship of some sort. Judging by the crew's accent and dislike of the British flag, this was a German ship. Excellent.

The TARDIS is heard materialising and the voice of the Doctor is heard. But not the voice of the Doctor from the last part. Some two bodies earlier, the Fifth Doctor was here. There was a sea vessel close, but the Doctor was searching for a detected time distortion as the Time Lords had mentioned previously.

The Doctor described how there's a tear in the fabric of time and space, the doings of the people beyond the Time Lords Vansell had talked about? The Doctor had a call from the Time Lords, but similarly with the Seventh Doctor in the previous part, it was jammed and wasn't clear. He was told by a Time Lord, Vansell it seemed, to return to his TARDIS. Part of the message got through, the destruction of time loomed. The Doctor followed the orders and returned to the TARDIS. But again, just like with the Seventh previously, it was locked. The Doctor wasn't alone however, he called inside for his companions; Tegan and Turlough. But no luck from within, the Doctor was locked out on a German sea vessel.

Immediately, a young sounding scouse lady approached the Doctor. But as she barely got to meet him the ship was attacked! Naval warfare was in action and the thrills began! From the German ship the crew could see two survivors from the attack they had instrumented. They were clinging to a 'box,' the TARDIS of course. The Doctor and the scouse lady had survived. They were taken aboard the German ship, but the capturers seemed wary.

While talking with the ship pilot, the German understands the Doctor perfectly. The TARDIS translation working perfectly? It seemed so. It was quite humorous how when captured on a German ship, The Doctor didn't even know the name of his accomplice. He's never been the best with names has he.  However danger loomed as British destroyers were circling the submarine from above. Attack seemed imminent. The Doctor's plan to gain control was about to commence...

He was talking, mentioning the Kaiser, and pretended he was a spy. He mentioned of US involvement, but the Germans pointed out they weren't involved, so the date was around 1915 presumably in the First World War. We were given the names of the German crew; we'd been introduced to a Captain Schweiger and Schmidt. But Schmidt was suffering, some sort of time distortion made it seem as though he was in a time loop repeating himself more than once and clearly showing affects. He was not himself. He was possessed, voices rang claiming the Doctor's life was a forfeit. Schmidt, per the instructions of Vansell, attacked the Doctor in a struggle. The Time Lords wanted the hell of the Doctor, but their minds had changed now! They wanted him dead!

Vansell had a plan to protect Gallifrey. Kill the Doctor. It would prevent the artron energy left behind- but would it prevent Gallifrey from attack? These attackers seemed to be taking their time, after all, the Sontarans easily invaded in The Invasion of Time. So why the wait? The president didn't seem happy with Vansell's actions, he wanted to stick to the original order and have The Doctor find his TARDIS and leave. But Vansell feared there was not enough time, and the death of the Doctor was the right way to resolve the Gallifreyan attack. Vansell was extremely determined claiming the Doctor needed to be stopped, whatever the cost.

The Doctor was confused that the Time Lords had firstly told him to leave, but now they were attempting to kill him and thought it was all mysterious. The Doctor needed to find the TARDIS, it was the most important thing, it could potentially keep him alive. But Schmidt was contacted again from Gallifrey, Vansell sent a message telling him to kill the Doctor. The Doctor was originally unaware of this and was needing his TARDIS desperately.

Schmidt confronted the Doctor, gun in hand and was ready to kill. The German was confused and it seemed the Doctor was slowly talking his way out of death. He was brilliant. The Doctor talked to the Time Lords via Schmidt, he knew it was their doing now. The president was still reluctant, but Schmidt's orders prevailed and a struggle ensued with the Doctor. But he survived. And now Helen was in control as she had taken Schmidt's gun. She saved the Doctor, shot Schmidt and for now all was safe.

The Doctor took the gun, he was in control now. He threatened the crew, he wanted his TARDIS. It was time for the German U-20 to reverse. But the Germans didn't seem convinced by the threat of the Doctor, so Helen took the gun. She'd already killed one German, she would have no problem doing it again. The Doctor, still a little hurt from the struggle, was able to control the submarine. He caught sight of the TARDIS. By now it had clearly been established, just like Elenya in part one, that Helen was the temporary companion of the Doctor. With the submarine to leave to the surface, an uncharacteristic moment occurred, the Doctor was to leave Helen stranded on a German submarine while he left for the TARDIS! It was not like him to leave an innocent person alone, but there was Time Lord urgency. Time was at stake.

The Doctor jumped to the TARDIS, and for the Germans and Helen the end seemed nigh. A British destroyer was close. But thankfully by the Germans' reaction, Helen had somehow escaped and was nowhere to be seen. Was she following the Doctor? It was unclear, but the Doctor had reached the TARDIS now, but again the key failed. There was no response from Tegan or Turlough inside, were they suffering in any way? Forces elsewhere were acting upon his TARDIS. The Time Lords really did want him dead! Another fantastic cliffhanger!

Part Three

We begin the third segment of the story on Gallifrey. This was defintely the best so far. Vansell was gathering data and discovered that there's a female inhabiting the vortex! Who could this be? The Rani came to mind but it seemed highly unlikely. The President entered and with a great reference to the Castalan, Vansell revealed he'd tracked down the Doctor, in his sixth incarnation. How convenient. The Doctor between the two we've already heard in great danger in the prior parts. But there was danger for this incarnation as well it seemed.

Gallifrey was under attack. The transduction barrier had been breached, time vessels were materialising all over the planet and the Time Lord's surrender was demanded. The Knights of Velyshaa had invaded and taken Gallifrey by storm. The same knights that fired at the Seventh Doctor, Elenya and Sancroff two parts earlier- had they killed them? It was unknown and I was still waiting for that cliffhanger to be resolved! But now the Time Lords were helpless as all power was gone and their last hope of The Doctor was out of reach. He wasn't dead.

Meanwhile, the setting was shifted and an explosion or disturbance of some sort was heard. A powerful voice screeched 'you must not succeed.' But who or what was it? The materialisation of the TARDIS was heard but it didn't seem good. What had happened? The voice of the Sixth Doctor was heard but he intriguingly revealed he was nowhere near the TARDIS. It had been taken, or was it lost? He was drowsy, seemingly suffering from brief amnesia. Whatever was happening, it wasn't good. The Doctor wasn't quite himself and the TARDIS was nowhere close.

He was greeted by a women, a continuing theme in the story, and she was a waitress. She gave the Doctor information of where he was, a star-cruiser. The Doctor was in space. I like how we've had one story underwater, one on ground and now one here in space. I was really looking forward to seeing them connected. The Doctor pretended to be a delegate, but he had the strangest feeling he'd met this waitress before. The female inhabiting the vortex? It was discovered the cruiser was orbiting something and they were the closest anyone had come before. It was the Kurgon Wonder.

The Doctor was escorted to a free seat in the delegate room and he quickly logged in. It didn't seem to have any security at all. But during the meeting of galactic delegates, a defence alarm rang throughout the cruiser, it was under attack! Or was it turbulence? Whatever it was, it seemed familiar. The Doctor was okay but he did seem affected. He quickly determined that the alarm was caused by time distortion. Were there any other survivors?

The cruiser captain and an android had survived the distortion, too conveniently so had the waitress the Doctor had previously talked to. It was revealed that these three were the only survivors, the rest of the star-cruiser passengers were killed. They seemed to have aged ever so quickly due to the shockwave.

We finally found out the name of the waitress; Ellie. Why had she survived along with The Doctor? More importantly, how? She wasn't an ordinary waitress. It all seemed too convenient, a plan of some sort. The pilot was also named as Azimendah. The ship was damaged and the survivors were in serious danger! A time passage was looming and it was unable to be tracked. At this point, with the ship's damage it was similar to Voyage of the Damned, an episode I've already mentioned.

Ellie explained the Kurgon Wonder and in doing so I really liked the mentions of politics and even ecotourism in space! Ellie though seemed rather secretive. She was definitely hiding something. I really loved the claim of the Doctor saying how he's hardly ever mistaken. And in saying so he wasn't mistaken at all. There were also some fantastic references to Daleks, Cybermen, Sontarans and other foes the Doctor has overcome.

The Doctor was now working things out. He remembered that he crashed his TARDIS into the Kurgon Wonder and in the wreckage he was thrown onto the cruiser. Again, that seemed too convenient. The TARDIS was in smithereens by the sounds. But that wasn't important, there was something inside the cruiser. Something had stowed aboard from the distortion. They were   creatures, and heading for the Doctor and Ellie. But Azimendah came to the rescue coming from his deck and taking out the creatures. The Doctor was fascinated and was observing the now dead creatures. Azimendah described the turbulence, a particle disruption field that was trillions of miles large. It was massive!

The Doctor, being curious as usual, wanted to run an analysis on the creatures. He also continued the trait of his past and future selves in showing a dislike of guns. He explained to the other two survivors that the TARDIS had been blown apart. So where did that leave him? He was stranded in space. With everybody dead, the android surprisingly placed the blame on the Doctor. Or at least he suspected his involvement.

The android was now struggling though, showing effects of the scenario. There was more time distortion and the cruiser was breached. The survivors could be thrown through space, they needed to seal themselves off, and quickly! Thankfully they were eventually sealed as Azimendah fired at the hinges equivalent of the door causing its collapse and blockage. They were safe, but they realised the momentum of the cruiser was still going- they were heading for the Kurgon Wonder! The Doctor was on course for a second crashing, and there was more distortion looming. He did though have a plan, they needed to go the engine room and somehow reverse the momentum. Easier said than done.

Meanwhile on Gallifrey, the planet was under severe attack, much more extreme than in The Invasion of Time. Slaughter was occurring, and Vansell demanded the chancellors were to fight against the Knights. Just how had he gained authority? Vansell had found a way through to talk to the Doctor using both the time distortion and the android as contact. The Doctor had discovered what the now dead creatures were. They were bacteria! The distortion had triggered an advanced evolution, this was danger and the Doctor was worried. Time was closing in on itself. For entertainment and danger value, this was fantastic.

Back on Gallifrey and the slaughter continued. The Knights were immensely powerful! The President was murdered and the weapons the Knights owned somehow inhibited regeneration. One shot and a Time Lord was dead. Helpless were the Time Lords. The Knights had more than taken control. Vansell had one last hope, the message needed to get through to the Doctor. He was their last hope. The message was to not free the Temperon. Vansell though was killed. What relevance did the Temperon have?

The Doctor was now questioning his makeshift companion Ellie about her secret that he knew she had. When they first met he noticed she had a disk and was planning on something for the delegate meeting. Ellie claimed 'the truth' was on the disk and she planned on playing it for all the delegates to hear. Ellie now played it to the survivors and it was interesting. It contained the moment of attack and something with the Kurgon Wonder and Temperon. The Doctor recognised the Temperon particles and he revealed that the Temperon is a legendary time beast! It was all very exciting! He explained how the beast was caught in some sort of experiment that went wrong, and that it was caught, frozen in the destruction. But now there was a mighty dilemma...

The only way to free the TARDIS was to free the Temperon. But the message from Vansell partially got trough to the Doctor, but Ellie shot the android dead before the message was complete. She was hiding something and again the Doctor knew he recognised her. Ellie had a plan it seemed. But who was she, how did the Doctor recognise her?

The setting was shifted into the near future and the Doctor was somehow inside the TARDIS! It was at the centre of the Kurgon Wonder. Just who was Ellie, and why was the Doctor back in the TARDIS? It was safe at least, but I was loving the mystery that had ensued. The Doctor planned to free the Temperon by dematerialising the TARDIS, freeing his ship also. He hadn't  quite heard the orders of Gallifrey it seemed. During dematerialisation though, Temperon particles were damaging the outside of the TARDIS. This would somehow free the Knights of Velyshaa so they would indeed attack Gallifrey. The Temperon was no longer trapped, not the subject of experiments or war. It was free. And another good cliffhanger finished the part off nicely, as a message was heard. Beware of the Sirens of Time.

Part Four

The final chapter of the audio and what I expected prior to listening finally happened. All three of the incarnations of The Doctor met up!

It began following on from the cliffhanger of part three with the Sixth Doctor but he was struggling. We could vaguely hear him struggling for breath, but soon after he was thankfully safe. The Doctor seemingly had been absorbed! After the frightening warning of the Sirens of Time at the climax of the last part, it was interesting how the Doctor had a lack of knowledge about them. The Temperon was now affected though.

The moment I had been waiting for since seeing the artwork of the CD finally happened, but in my opinion it was abrupt and unexplained. But ultimately the three Doctors met up and they were on Gallifrey. But it was silent. Empty. There were no Time Lords around. The Fifth Doctor rightfully determined that a catastrophe had occurred. The Knights of Velyshaa had certainly made their mark.

The Doctors realised they had been brought to Gallifrey by the Temperon, and all three had the message of 'beware the Sirens of Time.' What were they? It was very interesting how neither incarnation had ever heard of them. If they were so powerful I would've thought they'd have encountered at least one version of the Doctor. The Doctors made telepathic contact with each other trying to figure out what was going on. There was a brief review of the three previous parts and the lead up to the current scenario.

Each incarnation confirmed what they originally thought when their makeshift companion of Elenya/Helen/Ellie was always the same girl! That's why she was so familiar. Somebody was planning something. But for now something was approaching the lone Time Lords. Each girl was the same, outstanding concept!

The Doctors hid away, I loved the brief banter and mockery of appearances between the three. The Knights were present and they claimed that 'in the name of Sancroff' this was the second empire. Their mission on Gallifrey was the most important sacred mission in their history, because if it was jeopardised, it would mean the fall of the Knights of Velyshaa. The Doctors had a resolution to work towards it now seemed.

The Doctors though were in danger, they had been detected when all other life forms were thought gone. A quick escape was on the cards, and the Doctors dived to the vault. It was quite a fall and the Fifth Doctor was injured. But with the help of his future selves he was just about alright. It was revealed the Temperon was involved, and here on Gallifrey. It was all very mysterious and intriguing.

There was a voice heard, female, she was the Knight commander. She mocked the Time Lords and laughed upon their failure here, she was in charge. Now with the Doctors in the vault, they needed to get back up to the Knights quietly in order to reconquer Gallifrey. They headed for an elevator, but the Knights detected this and planned for the interception of all three incarnations. The Knight commander was fascinated to learn that the three Time Lords were all the same Time Lord. With the elevator reaching its destination, just the Fifth Doctor was inside and he was caught. The other two Doctors were climbing to their intended destination, but wherever they were heading it was a struggle. A great little reference to Marco Polo was made. The two Doctors telepathically communicated with the Temperon, they were going to search for the legendary time beast.

The Fifth Doctor meanwhile was held by the Knight commander, she now had a hostage, she was in control. The other two Doctors seemingly found a converted room which seemed to be the wardrobe for the Knights. A Knight approached it and removed his armour, there was flesh and he needed revitalising. It seemed this Knight was diseased. The Sixth and Seventh Doctor didn't like what they saw.

The Time Lords though had been subjugated and now the Temperon was damaged. When the power of holding the beast captive was released by the Doctor, it had took a lot out of it, it was in torment. In a running theme throughout the audio, finally another character was named, the Knight commander was Lyena. But thanks to her, the Sixth and Seventh Doctor had been caught.

A lot of information about the Knights was revealed, it seemed they were all diseased and that it would take millennia for them all to die. Their race was suspended in torment, almost like they were the living dead. Somewhat similar to the Miracle Day season of Torchwood. The Knights had come to Gallifrey to live and to conquer, and to prevent the inevitable of death. But something else was revealed, the Time Chart had been reactivated.

We discovered that the three parts we'd listened to earlier were all nexus points that were connected. Connected by The Doctor. I liked this explanation. Now, long overdue these points were explored and the cliffhangers and results of the actions were explained. The resolution to the wonderful part one cliffhanger was great. The Doctor had already anticipated attack and reversed the fire from the Knights resulting in their death. This however triggered a chain of events that would lead up to the current happenings on Gallifrey. Sancroff was saved, the once great war criminal, but the Velyshaans used Sancroff as a catalyst for their second empire. He helped them.

The effects of part two were now revealed, with the Doctor leaving the German U-20 in the reverse of where it was due to be, it resulted in people being saved and ultimately caused murder to vital people. The result was no penicillin and the discovery of antibiotics was non-existent. Earth history had been changed. This resulted in its ravage in 1956. The humans couldn't fight off the Knights. They stood no chance.

Not much was said about part three but there was some exploration and explanation. The Temperon didn't actually want to be saved. He voluntarily went into his suspension and torment, but because he was released the Knights were free and took control.

There was a change of heart on Gallifrey though, as Lyena completely changed. It seemed to good to be true (and well, you know the cliche saying). She revealed there was a surviving TARDIS and she wanted the help of the Doctors. She wanted them to each correct the events of the cliffhangers of the previous parts in order for her race to no longer be diseased, for this to not be the second empire, but actually the first. She wanted the curse of Temperon lifted. The Doctors obliged and entered the high tech type-70 TARDIS. They were though all curious as to who Elenya/Helen/Ellie actually was and why their TARDIS's were locked.

The mission though was over before it commenced. The time core of the TARDIS had completely burned out. The mission had failed. The Doctors were now eager to discover who or what the Sirens of Time were. They wanted answers from the Temperon. So the Sixth and Seventh Doctor voyaged to him, but Lyena quickly and angrily disapproved. She didn't want the Temperon playing any part. She was hiding something. The Doctors were caught and trapped, but the Temperon gave them a vital warming. Beware of Lyena and a warning of the Sirens. But quickly the Doctors took control and the tables soon turned. The Seventh Doctor had the Knight guard's gun, and used it to fire at the controls surrounding the Temperon. Its mind was free. It revealed all about Lyena.

She was a manifestation of a Siren of Time! She wanted to trick the Doctors into serving the Sirens, the Sirens were a race that fed off of chaos energy. I guessed they were related to The Trickster and his brigade. The Sirens' life depends on chaos, but they have others cause the chaotic destruction- they can't do it themselves. The Sirens are very manipulative. It was the Sirens who took control of parts of space and used their dimensional powers to keep the Doctors out of their TARDIS.

Lyena had had enough. She threatened the weak Fifth Doctor and warned his life would be drained. This would prove catastrophic to the other two Doctors if their past self would die. But Lyena's secret was up. She was a Siren and the Doctors now knew. She exited her Knight disguise and her voice was changed. She was in Siren form.

She did claim though she wanted history back on its right course. The Time Lords needed to help and save time. But the Temperon revealed if they responded to the Sirens a second time, they would become slaves for eternity. The Sirens would use the Doctor for havoc. I really liked how the Temperon was envisioned as some sort of Time Beast, but was in fact extremely knowledgable.

It was fantastic that the makeshift companion who was actually the same person was leading each Doctor to the necessary chaos creating points and situations. But Lyena took command once more, and started the life drain on the Fifth Doctor. If he died, so would his future selves. The Doctors knew they needed to right history, but that would cause them to become the slaves of the Sirens.

The Temperon thought he had a solution. He was to go back in time to their creation and destroy them. But the Doctors questioned why he hadn't already done so. The simple answer was he couldn't. However, he could contain them. The Velyshaan technology needed to be destroyed to free the Temperon. The knowledgable creature was prepared to start in eternal struggle and torment. A great sacrifice.

The Sirens philosophy on life was revealed. They simply did what they did to exist, they had no concept of evil despite what they were doing. I loved how they described that compassion was a trait of the Doctor, and each incarnation distinctively agreed. But the Sixth Doctor seemed to take lead and described how there are many more traits, and that when the Doctor regenerates the balance of each trait is altered. That was fantastic. The pragmatic trait seemed fatal somehow, and it was more present in the Sixth Doctor than any other incarnation. Somehow, this seemed to destroy Lyena and the Sirens. It was an unexplained and abrupt ending. I would have much rathered some clarity as to why the Sirens seemingly were so easily vanquished.

History was being fixed, without the Sirens' doing and the Doctors would be slave free. Sancroff was heard and he was now apologetic. No Doctor in sight, and he was murdered as intended. The German U-20 continued its course and attack and the natural war events continued. The human race was fine and advanced as normal. The arrival of Vansell on Gallifrey as seen at the very beginning of the story was heard. But he didn't know why he was arriving, the Sirens had been stopped and the Velyshaans weren't free. The Time Lords were restored though. Vansell, seemingly suffering of amnesia, left.

The Doctors were placed at the first nexus point before any events had occurred as we listened to them. The unnamed swamp planet was where the three Doctors would part. The call of Elenya was still heard, but this time the Seventh Doctor couldn't and wouldn't rescue her. The Doctors admired the last attempt of the Sirens and their determination to try and succeed.

The Temperon had succeeded in containing the Sirens, he would though be in eternal torment. The laugh of Ruthley was heard as she saw Elenya sink. I liked how the Doctors criticised each other in bantering fashion. The Doctors returned to the TARDIS and would return to their own time streams. Elenya called one last time, but no help was coming. The Sirens were dead.

My analysis;
I think this story had all the ingredients to be a wonderful story, sadly it didn't deliver up to full standard. I didn't think the format was good in all honesty although it was cleverly linked. The mystery of Elenya/Helen/Ellie though was a thing of beauty. The third part was the best of the three individual Doctor parts despite the convenience, I thought. The Sirens had the potential to be brilliant villains, and still do if they were to return which I would like for them to have another chance. This multi doctor story wasn't the best, it was still a great story but there was too much left unexplained and a big lack of clarity. The Doctors meeting was excellent and Gallifrey being attacked was fantastic. Overall, a bit of a mixed bag but the good did considerably out-weigh the bad. Just more explanation and clarity would've been nice, particularly with the destruction of the Sirens!

Rating; Probably a little generous, but 8/10!
